The Mackenzie River National Park is very unique. This national park has a lot to offer for people. Eco-tourism is a way people can learn about the new national park, and the environment. The Mackenzie River National Park has 3 eco-tourism activities, which allows people to learn more about the park in a fun way!
Canoeing:
The Mackenzie River National Park has the largest river in Canada flowing right through it. The Mackenzie River is the largest river in Canada and it is a great characteristic of the park. People can enjoy an hour and half of canoeing through the river, and can have a look at all the trees along the shore line and see if they can spot any of the fish and reptiles. You can get a very beautiful view of the Mackenzie River and it is a great learning experience, it will only cost $11. A life jacket will be provided and is mandatory. There can be one person in a canoe, along with a tour guide, who will be able to aide you, and describe and explain what you will be seeing.
hiking:
Hiking is one of the simplest eco-tourism activities out there, but also is one of the most beneficial. People can have a nice hike along the hiking trail, and can view trees, and wildlife. For only $8 and hour, you can enjoy this great experience. There will also be a tour guide to give an explanation of what is being seen. Everyone would also get a small guide book, with the different types of trees, plants, and animals which can be seen. There would also be small breaks during the hikes, so you would be able to stop and use binoculars, provided to you, to get a closer look at birds and animals.
WildERness camping:
Wilderness camping is another great activity people can do at the Mackenzie River National Park. For $25 a night, you will be able to enjoy nature. A tent will be provided for the night. This will allow you to hear the animals in the night and really appreciate what the Mackenzie River National Park offers. You will appreciate the animals, the stars in the night, the vegetation and you will live off the land. You will appreciate the lakes and rivers when it's your only source of water and you will appreciate the beautiful view!
