Map of Taiga Plains and other National Parks in this Ecozone.
Taiga Plains is centred around the Mackenzie River, in the Northwest territories, also bordered by the mountains in the west. This Ecozone is mainly in the Southwest corner of the Northwest Territories. It also goes along North Eastern side of British Columbia and the upper edge of Alberta. Taiga Plains is Canada's sixth largest Ecozone, with an area of about 555 000 km2. Since Mackenzie River is the Largest River in Canada, we decided to build our Brand new national park in the middle of the River and this is how we decided to name our park, Mackenzie River National Park. Our national park's location is mostly in the Northwest Territories and right in the middle of the Mackenzie River. This Park is the largest national park in Taiga Plains.
